Disney Springs Formerly Known as Downtown Disney

So you have just touched down in the wonderful US of A.  The best place to go to get your bearings is Disney Springs.  This is basically Disney's little shopping, food and entertainment complex.  It is currently undergoing a major renovation from its previously know name of Downtown Disney.  Disney have pretty much revamped the entire area.  My first visit to Florida was 5 years ago back in 2010 and I hardly recognised it after visiting this November.  However for anyone visiting for the first time you, will hardly know anything is going on.  The construction at the moment is kept very well hidden away from the public eye.

So where do I start, there is so much to see and do at Disney Springs before you even get started on the theme parks.  Below is a quick look guide for the best place to eat, shop and be seen.

Restaurants and Eats

Whether you want a quick snack or a sit down meal, Downtown Disney has it all.

Predominantly known for its large collection of movie and music memorabilia, Planet Hollywood is the place to be if you love all things Hollywood.  I would probably say it is more aimed at the younger generation i.e. late teens and above however I would definitely make a visit as a family also.

The food is mainly classic American cuisine, with a few fish dishes.  I would say a reasonably vast collection of food choices however having visited before, I definitely think the menu has shrunk in size since my last visit.  Never the less still good food, and once you have finished eating you can take a wander around the rest of the restaurant to photograph and view the rest of the memorabilia on show.  There are 3 floors of walls plastered with numerous kinds of records, movie props etc.

Top Tip : Ask to sit on the 2nd floor, as I have always found you have a better view of the whole restaurant, and have an overall better experience.
